Inspiration workshop Park Matilo
Matilo was a deserted area near the center of Leiden until a few years ago. The remains of a Roman fortress were found in this area . The municipality of Leiden had the desire to develop an archaeological park, in which the former Roman castellum and medieval monastery were made visible again.
At the request of the municipality, an inspiration workshop was organized. M A R C and DaF-architects presented ideas using examples and own projects to make the past visible and liveable again in the park design. In 2014 the archaeological park became a reality.
