Elst | Limes information plaques

Traces of a Roman road were found during archaeological research in the reconstruction of the Grote Molenstraat north of Elst. This road connected the Roman temples in the center of Elst with the Limes (Roman Empire border) at Driel.

As a lasting memory, an information plaque was placed along the Grote Molenstraat which recounts the history of the Romans and Batavians in the municipality of Overbetuwe.

A second plaque was placed near the recreated Roman road (designed by DLA +) just south of Driel. The plaques were made by

M A R C  in cooperation with Buro Kloeg.
