Tilburg | reconstruction Bronze Age house
In 2009 and 2012 several archaeological investigations have been conducted in ‘Loven Noord’, located between Tilburg and Berkel-Enschot. Remains of four houses were found in two areas, dating from the Middle Bronze Age (1800-1500 BC). One of these houses had specific features that differ from the normal house typology for this period. The house lacked regularity in the placement of the centerposts and the heavy-duty wall construction.
The municipality of Tilburg wished to reveal the excavated Bronze Age house for future residents and public and thought about a reconstruction near the location. Together with Leo Wolterbeek (Woud en Beek),
M A R C drafted a whitepaper to explore the possibilities for a (partial) reconstruction.
